« Cool game, love the heroic music. I like the epicness of it all. Kinda felt sorry for the dragon at the start. Would love if I could switch the camera distance and orientation especially when riding. »

« only played for a short time but really enjoying it so far! a few small bugs but when its an indie company with what... 3 people working on it.... its expected. very nice feeling flying! »

« For a early access game it's pretty cool although I'm not sure if anybody can tell me whether it's actually online co-op.... Can imagine it can become pretty boring without a friend »

« Some parts of this game feel pretty cool and empowering. Reminded me a bit of Drakengard. Some parts are also unpolished. The combat feels a wee bit rigid. But.... You get to be a hero that transforms into a dragon for $20. »

« Game has potential and I'm a sucker for dragons rider games since they are so rare but ffs devs remove micro transactions and you will make way more money on base sales when you release the game or polish this EA. »

« The game is in a really rough state even for early access. It just feels very incomplete and what is playable is pretty clunky, spammy, and not very compelling gameplay. »

« tried to play this game with friends and wouldnt load us in game together even tho we were in fireteam also would freeze while joining servers game also has no clear objectives on map will let it sit in library until flushed out »

« Even after just a short bit, with the cope wearing off it's abundantly clear how painfully mediocre this game is. The dragon riding is neat, but that's about the only good comment I can make about the gameplay. »

Who is it for?

Players hunting for bold action-RPG experiences with a strong first impression should keep this on their watchlist. Early adopters who don’t mind sparse data will find little to discourage them.

Is Dragonhold worth it in 2026?

Mostly yes, if its flaws don't put you off: 73% of 131 Steam reviews are positive (player score 66/100). Most-praised strength: The long-form playtester put in over 25 hours and still gave it. Current price: 19,50€.

Verdict

Dragonhold’s earliest feedback is unusually glowing given its tiny sample size. While the numbers are promising, the lack of depth in reviews and keywords makes it hard to call a must-buy just yet—future patches and more player input will decide if this hype translates to lasting satisfaction.
